Business Idea
Ramen is one of the most famous Asian fusion foods introduced to North America in recent years. Many brands have opened in Toronto such as Sansotei, Ajisen, and Kinton. When we are walking on Dundas street on a minus fifteen-degree winter day, we may be surprised to see that people line up for more than one hour to get a bowl of Sansotei ramen. After summarizing the existing reviews on Google Maps, we found that approximately 70% of reviews are from non-Asian people. According to Statistics Canada, Asia was Canada's largest source of immigrants during the past five years. The increasing Asian population and interest in Asian fusion cuisine in Canada have provided an opportunity for the ramen industry. Therefore, we propose bringing the famous Japanese ramen brand, ICHIRAN, to Toronto as a step of oversea expansion. The Toronto flagship store will locate in the downtown Toronto to provide good quality ramen to customers as a direct channel. In addition, online take-home ramen kit stores, supermarkets selling ramen kits, and food delivery apps will help ensure the successful marketing distribution channels. The marketing plan includes situational analysis, marketing segmentation, targeting, and positioning, marketing strategy, and timeline and projections.
